DENNIS DRISCOLL: bio

Dennis Holway Driscoll has been working on his own original songs since the middle of the nineteen nineties. Born and raised in Washington State his music reflects a lot of what he has seen in both the rural and urban sections of his life. The lush scenery of the Long Beach Peninsula (by the Pacific Ocean and Columbia River) and the coffee drinking, roller skating backpack-strip club-raw foods culture of Seattle have positively molded his identity and shaped his own anti-folk-pop sounds. He has seen K go through various phases and has also met a lot of amazing people (like Al, Stella, Khaela, Phil, Calvin, Mirah, Nikki, Tae, Arrington, et cetera) through the ethereal network of musicians known as 'K.' On one of his various expeditions he ventured to meet Dame Darcy who draws 'Meatcake,' a brilliant comic book that he discovered in the mid-nineties. She honored him by making some songs with him which they released as an EP. He has been recorded by Phil Elvrum at 'Dub Narcotic Studio' and also by Calvin Johnson recorded his 2002 K release 'Voices In The Fog' which Calvin thought was like the Beach Boys LP 'Pet Sounds' yet in a Lo-Fi sense. This brilliant album attracted much acclaim in the media. At this juncture Driscoll still retains a great deal of spare energy for recording work and has thus created two tiny studios, one in Seattle and the other in the rural, historic oceanside town of Oysterville, WA. Driscoll's musical productions are gaining some attention in France, Spain, Sweden and Japan (to mention only a few places where his 'super nice' fans reside). Driscoll is currently available to play weddings, funerals, children's parties and bar mitzvahs.
